More Than Words

I've been asked to contribute a novella for Harlequin's awesome MORE THAN WORDS anthology! I'm very excited about it.  Since its inception in 2004, the More Than Words program has recognized and rewarded women making extraordinary differences in their communities.  It's an initiative that aims to raise awareness of worthy causes that are of concern to women and mobilize others to take action in their communities.

This is the first year that Harlequin has partnered with its TEEN authors and I am very honored to have been selected.  Coolness! More than that, I'm very honored to have been paired with a woman who makes a positive difference every day in the lives of women: Cheryl Sesnon from the Jubilee Women's Center in Seattle, a place where women can learn to leave homelessness behind forever.  I've had the chance to talk with Cheryl and it's humbling to learn what her Center is able to do to positively impact the lives of women, many of whom never dreamed they'd need help. Those women could be any one of us.

Cheryl and the Jubilee Women's Center will be featured in my novella, and it will be available in the Spring of 2014, along with other novellas for the anthology being written by awesome YA authors Katie McGarry and Earl Sewell.

Do you know any women making positive differences in your communities?  If yes, check out the More Than Words program.  Nominations for next year are being accepted until August 9.
