So I Wrote This Article for Huffington Post Yesterday...

...about the diversity in children's fiction--or lack thereof--particularly in young adult fiction.  And, wow.  You could say it went viral.  It got reposted, reblogged, shared, Tweeted, Facebooked, Tumblred, forwarded, you name it, all over the cyber-place.

Definitely a hot button or hot topic, depending on your view.

That's cool it went viral!
Both Roland Yeomans and EJ Wesley write characters that are Native Americans.

Fantastic! Your article deserved to go viral. How cool that you've gotten so much positive feedback from Native Americans. Just goes to show ya... you were right!

That's really cool. Congrats!

I agree there is a lack of diversity. Even in content- and if the characters do happen to have some racial diversity they are really stereotyped. Like my son was reading a book with a young black character but of course he was a gang-banger. Far removed from my son's life. I also wish there were more humorous books for young adult boy/men.
