Got Spare Time?

One of my New Year's resolutions this year was to play more piano.  So far, I'm failing miserably.

Seems that whenever I get spare time I either read or hike, two of my other hobbies.  So my piano sits.  And collects dust.  That's not good.

I've been (trying) to spend less time online so that I'll at least walk by my piano and pick up some of my sheet music.  Sometimes I'm even successful.  But I could be better about it.

What are your hobbies? When do you do them? How do you make time?

Inquiring minds.

I play guitar, but since I'm in a band, it's more than a hobby. I just know that I'll spend an hour or so every night practicing no matter what.

I sing in a duo, so I practice just about every day, but I, too, want to play more music on guitar and piano and never seem to find the time. I think it's a matter of figuring out what the priorities are and what will feed my soul.

I would also love to get back to playing the piano but that has yet to happen for me either. Life just seems to be too busy and whenever I do have spare time I always prefer to spend it on a book. There are worse ways to spend my time though. :)

I played the sax back in school. Can't play it now though - my grandson is using it for band.

Stopping reading our comments and go play.

One of my new year resolutions (probably the only one) was to play more drums. Except from that,I read and write and ski a lot, already longing for the winter >:)

I draw/paint but setting the time aside to do so is always difficult since I'm so focused on my writing *sigh*

I do crafts in my 'spare time'. Lately those have involved book pages. Time for those only comes when circumstances are aligned so that I can't be writing and so creative juices need a different outlet. Crafts are at least something I can do that involves my daughter, which she likes. :)

Piano has always been a passion of mine and someday I hope to play. BUT there just is NO time for hobbies for me.

My day flies and I never seem to be able to keep up with what I need to do. I don't even have much time to write ... that is really bad. lol.

I hope you find the time Liz, music is good for the soul.
