Crock Pot Fever

I think I've mentioned this before but I would be lost in the kitchen without my crock pot.  But for the crock pot, and we'd probably starve.  Slice, dice, and throw everything into one pot in the morning and, voila, dinner is served 10-12 hours later? That is so my speed.

Imagine my deliriousness when I discovered a Facebook page run by women who post nothing but crock pot recipes.  (Don't worry, guys.  You're invited to Like the page too.)  My crock pot recipes are pretty simple--throw a bunch of vegetables into the pot, along with seasonings, and meat if you're a meat lover.  While I always go for the simple, it's been fun to comb this site for some new twists on old recipes, although I remain steadfast that I have to be able to slice, dice, and throw into one pot.  No pre-cooking, no weird or impossible to find ingredients, no bizarre sauces.  Just simple, hearty stuff.

If you crock pot as much as I do, you're gonna wanna check out this page.  Click here.

Love, love, LOVE the crock pot. There is nothing like walking into the house and smelling dinner already cooked! Of course that would mean that summer is really over if I pull that out. :(
I hear there are some great dessert recipes too but I've never tried one.
Sorry about the Cardinals.

I definitely will--this is the time of year to haul out my giant crockpot!

I love the idea of tossing it all into one pot to cook all day, but don't have a crock pot :(

Maybe I'll put one on my Christmas list ...

I adore my crockpot! Granted, I don't have a Hello Kitty, nothing fancy or fun, but it's still a staple in the kitchen. And with the weather drastically cooling, I might have to bring it from summer storage sooner rather than later.

Using a crockpot is like giving the cook (me) the day off. Don't use it very often, but am very appreciative of the days I do.

I love the crock pot, especially this time of year when it's too early to turn the heat on, but chilly, and the fall veggies are coming in from the farm.

I would be lost without my crockpot, simple, easy, I don't have or want to think about it. I also have a very, very fussy family but they're all happy as bunnies with my crockpot chicken stew, so that's another bonus

I think I need to get myself a crock pot. I thought I was clever finding things that can bake at the same temperature in the oven, this takes time saving to a whole new level.

I keep wanting to do the crockpot thing I just can't figure out how to do it with the way the people in this house live -one vegetarian, one semi, one not- lol. I guess it's impossible. It would be perfect for my schedule though!!!

I used to have a crockpot. I think I lent it to my son and never saw it again. Hmmm. I may have to take a peek around his kitchen.

Every year I say I'm going to get one and I never do. For someone not big on the whole cooking thing, i think this would be brilliant.

I only wish I owned a Hello Kitty crockpot! ;-) Mine is very boring looking, unfortunately, but quite functional. BTW, found a great recipe today on the FB page that I'm making for my husband tomorrow--meatballs in spaghetti/tomato sauce, except I'm substituting the meat for turkey. I just bought a couple of frozen bags of turkey meatballs, pre-cooked. I throw in our favorite spaghetti sauce and a can of tomatoes and dinner will be served (tomorrow).

I never use one.... could you believe it.

But I'm sure they make great meals. I don't do much cooking, but I LOVE to bake.

I've got a "crock pot" (well, slow cooker) but after I made too much boring food one time, I turned myself off using it and I haven't since. I suck!

I've never used a crock pot! I must rectify that.

Oh yes, the crock pot is my friend. I just used it yesterday while finishing up a big section of my revisions! Rah! Haha, and I love the photo of the pink Hello Kitty crock pot!!!
