What Came First: The Chicken or a Box of Sugar Cookies?

Deep thought: Sometimes I don't know whether I'm inspired to write just for the sake of writing.  Or if it's the cute box of sugar cookie chippers (with pink sprinkles) that I'm hooked on from my local Paradise Bakery.  All I know is that every time my car finds its way to Paradise Bakery, my daily word count shoots straight up.  Like by at least 1500 words.

Is it the sugar that motivates me to write?  Or is it the writing itself?  Hmmmm.  Inquiring minds...

What's your fave writing and reading snack food?  (Please don't say something healthy like celery sticks dipped in organic yogurt because I feel guilty already.)

Haha! Sugar-cookie induced euphoria! Honestly, my favorite writing snack ... beer. Must be enjoyed with a great deal of moderation, obviously.

It's the sugar! Sugar is the food of the gods! There's nothing better. Although, I must admit a nice glass of red wine will do the trick for me...... but only later in the day. Ha!

Coffee! And an egg souffle from Panera Bread helps my word count too...hmmm...they still serve them for another 90 minutes....maybe I should go....

Mmmm... sugar cookies sound good to me! Our apartment complex provides a coffee bar & cookies, so a hot cocoa + a snickerdoodle makes me über-productive.

Every time you mention these sugar cookies I get jealous. LOL I guess my motivator is probably coffee, since it keeps me going in the mornings, which aren't my best time of day. :)

The cookie monster strikes! My Waterloo is M&M's. Please note I'm on a diet (from the winter munchies at keyboard)and think I gained a pound just typing the name, LOL!

We're off Tuesday on holiday until Aug. 5th so won't be posting much after Friday. Hope you have a great summer. (Friday's post will have a little something for you.)

I have 3 shortbread cookies every day with my lunch. That is my "treat." I was severely overweight for most of my adult life, so I need to really watch what I eat, but I've found this doesn't affect my weight negatively. And they're yummy.

You're killing me! Those look so good and I am no where near them.

I'm a big coffee-a-holic when it comes to writing. Usually because I try to write when everyone goes to bed or early before they wake up. Damn people in the house!

It's funny that you mention that, because I find that I write the most and the best when I have something hot to drink (either tea or hot cocoa) and/or something to snack on. I also tend to eat most when I'm writing. Hmmmm. What a conundrum. :-)

I would have to say Oreo cookies would be on my list. I don't usually eat while writing because I hate getting crumbs in between the keys of my keyboard. I do indulge in anything chocolate every now and then. That's why we have hand-held vacuum cleaners, right? ;)

I stick to coffee then water. Boring. Yes.

Am I weird for not eating while writing? I was editing for about 6 hours straight last Saturday and stopped to have dinner but didn't eat anything at all during. On the other hand, if the coffee fairy gave me a bottomless latte mug, I would... well, I could maybe do 12 hours straight instead of 6! Mmm, coffee.........

Easy one. Chocolate. Chocolate chips will do.

I have to have sour gummy Lifesavers or Red Vines to keep me going. Sugar!

Okay, you've all given me some additional ideas for which I can supplement my sugar and chocolate habits. Thank you!

Hehe. I like trail mix while I'm writing. Is that okay? It's only semi-healthy, right?

Well, Liz,

I think you know I've been on a health kick lately and that does include snacks. I haven't had a sugar product or starch in almost four months. And yes, that does include chocolate.... NOOOOOO! I was such a chocoholic prior to this.

Now I snack on these amazing health, yes health bars called 'THINK THIN." Well I've gotta tell you, the chocolate brownie almost tastes like one. They're sugar free, gluten free, and have 20 grams of protein.

I also munch on raw almonds by the handfuls.
