Wanted: New Genres

How weird can you go?  My weirdness knows no bounds but I'm always up for a challenge.

So what crossover genres haven't been written yet?  Maybe it's the one you're currently writing?  If it is, kudos to you for writing something bold and different.

How about:

Young Adult Historical Fantasy Mystery; or

Contemporary Romance Thriller Fantasy

What's hiding out in your hardrive?  Readers, what would you like to see that hasn't been written?  Name a new genre, or a new crossover genre.

The sky's the limit.  Hey, it could happen.

My brain is still too weary to come up with anything exciting but I'll check back later to see what others came up with.

My new release is a paranormal family saga (with historical mystery and strong romantic elements). :)

David, I LOVE it! I'm already intrigued and haven't even read the blurb. Paranormal family saga--haven't heard that before.

LOL I have to tell you, it took me months to whittle the genre down even that far for the purpose of subbing. Family sagas are big stories! :)

Urban Middle-grade Steampunk. It's all the rage in France!

I feel like I could write a horror romance biography. Or may mystery romance biography.

Right now I'm writing a YA fantasy that has mystery and romance.

Seriously, I think these combos sound amazing! They also sound like books I'd love to read!! I also think some of the most interesting books on the shelves today are the ones that do crossovers.

I was actually thinking about writing romantic fantasy thrillers. I would also love to find some erotic romantic suspense.

Good idea Liz. I've just posted about a Romantic Friday Writers group that myself and Francine Howarth have created so we might be up for the Contemporary Romance Thriller Fantasy genre. Sounds challenging.

I'm plotting a new novel today, and considering a dystopian world with a mix of high tech and supernatural - a fantasty/sci fi hybrid, I guess. Plus romance and adventure, of course. :)
